This extract was The Myth of the Native.
This extract discusses post -colonialism. Post- colonialism refers to the events that happened after countries invaded and took over colonies. Several countries felt very bitter about it, and chose to express their feelings through literature. My interpretations from this extract was that the white people may have wanted the black peoples to see them as superior to them, due to factors including re-education, money, power and religion. There is a key quote which stands out, "Without action there cannot be a tragedy". The interpretation I got from this was that if anything happens, there wont be any trouble caused, i.e- trying to solve the problem just adds to the problem, because more labour and thought is needed.
